If there is a car company that truly revolutionized the Indian automobile industry, it is Maruti Suzuki. A dreamchild of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, this homegrown Indian brand was the company that made cars accessible to millions of Indian homes. Prior to Maruti, cars were considered to be something only the rich could have; but from its launch, Maruti made it possible for middle-class families to have their first car. Established in 1981 along with Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki, the company was owned by the Government of India till 2003. The first manufacturing unit of Maruti was located in Gurugram and at present there is one more in Manser while a wholly owned Suzuki manufacturing unit in Gujrat. It was the first car company in India to have its own call centre and today, you can find many Maruti Suzuki authorised service centres all over the country. It has one of the largest group of dealers and service providers; and with their parts being very easy to source and buy, the after-sales service of Maruti Suzuki is the best in India. And of course, FIDATO is proud to be part of the Maruti Suzuki service centre in Noida.
From the start, the focus of the company has been on making affordable mid-sized family cars. The Maruti 800 was the first car to be introduced by the company followed by Maruti Van. Till today, these two cars remain the most popular cars in the Indian market.
At present, there are 24 models of Maruti Suzuki in the market. It includes 3 sedans, 4 MUVs, 4 SUVs, 10 hatchbacks, 2 minivans and 1 pickup truck. The older discontinued models are also quite popular in the second-hand car market, and you can easily service one in our Maruti Suzuki workshop in Noida.
The iconic car with which Maruti Suzuki started its innings in India in 1983. Powered by a 3 pot 796 CC petrol engine producing 37 BHP and coupled with a 4-speed gearbox, the front wheel-driven car provided unmatched handling, fuel efficiency, reliability, practicality, and ease of ownership that was at that time unheard in India. No wonder it became the best-selling car and the second-longest-production car in India. Maruti 800 remained in production for 31 years and was discontinued in 2010. The car had been an aspiration for many middle-class Indians who wanted to move from their trusted two-wheelers to a family and pocket-friendly car.
The all-time best and highest-selling car in India, the Maruti Suzuki Alto needs no introduction. The car was launched in 2000 and came with a 3-cylinder fuel-injected petrol engine producing 45 bhp of power paired with a 5-speed gearbox. In 2011, a new Alto called K10 was launched which featured a 1-litre engine producing 66 bhp of power and 89Nm of torque. The car is known for its great mileage and hassle-free ownership experience. Both the 800 cc and 1000 cc continued to be sold side by side until very recently when the 800 cc was discontinued due to stringent BSVI norms. More than a million Alto has been sold in India reaching a record of selling 200, 000 units in a single financial year.
The Maruti Omni is the second car model to be introduced in India in 1894 after the Maruti 800. Powered by the same engine and gearbox as the Maruti 800, the Omni was the first microvan of India featuring sliding rear doors. It became quickly popular with taxi and tour operators due to its ability to carry 5 passengers and a huge amount of luggage. In 1996, an 8-seater version of the car was launched which became India’s cheapest MPV. Coupled with low maintenance and exceptional mileage, Omni became ubiquitous on the Indian roads. From ambulances to cargo-carrying vans to taxis and family cars, Maruti Omni found takers in every form. And if you need to service yours, just find us by googling Maruti Suzuki service centre near me.
Maruti Suzuki Esteem was a sedan launched in 1994. It was an upgraded version of the 1-litre 45 bhp Maruti 1000. The car initially came with a 1.3 litre 65 BHP carburetted engine. In 2000, this was upgraded to an 85 bhp, 105 Nm MPFI 16-valve engine. This MPFI engine gave the car a class-leading power-to-weight ratio making it the best driver-focused handling car. No wonder it became the quintessential car in Indian auto racing and is still popular and used in rallying. The car also came with a diesel engine sourced from Peugeot. Esteem was India’s first mass-market luxury sedan which came with class-first features like AC, full-powered windows, powered steering, rear armrest, central locking, rear demister, power antenna, and rear spoiler as standard features. The car was eventually phased out in 2007 with the introduction of Maruti Dzire.
Maruti Suzuki Swift is a subcompact hatchback launched in India in 2005. Initially, it was launched with a 1.3 litre SOHC 16-valve petrol engine producing 85 BHP of power and 105 Nm of torque. Two years later Maruti launched a 1.3 litre turbo diesel variant source from Fiat. The car was very different from Maruti’s other hatchbacks. It was big and had a very good road presence. The focus was on interior space and passenger comfort. It came fully loaded with class-first features as standard like alloy wheels, ABS, and automatic climate control. This new generation Maruti was a departure from the traditional with attractive sporty, sexy design language but at the same time delivering on the core Maruti values of exceptional fuel efficiency, great handling, easy maintenance, and hassle-free ownership.
Maruti Gypsy debuted as the third model from Maruti in the year 1985. This was Maruti’s foray into the world of SUVs. Maruti Gypsy was a very capable, rugged 4x4 that made India fall in love with the off-roading culture and to a greater extent SUVs. It initially came with a 970 CC engine making 45 BHP. Later it was upgraded to the 1.3 litre unit powering Esteem and was rebadged as Gypsy King. The most notable feature was that the car always came built with a selectable 4WD transmission. The reliability and off-roading capability of the car was so good that it soon became a mainstay of the Indian Armed Forces and Police. In fact, the go-anywhere nature of the car was good, that the Army unofficially rated it second best after the Arjun main battle tank. The car has attended a legendary status in the Indian Rallying scene winning multiple awards.
Maruti Ertiga is the company’s first successful foray into true blue premium MPV. It was launched in India in the year 2012 as a seven-seater. It is built on the same platform as the Swift and thus shares the engine and gearbox and most of the other mechanical parts. The car sold 11000 units within the first 5 days of its launch. It could carry 7 passengers and luggage in comfort for long distances. The diesel variant quickly became very popular with tour and taxi operators across India. The car is reliable, safe, fuel-efficient and has an easy ownership experience. In its present generation, it is the second best-selling car from Maruti Suzuki.
Maruti debuted this car in the Indian market in 1999. The car came with the “Tall Boy” design principle and was launched as a direct competitor to Hyundai Santro. A unique feature of the car was its ability to accommodate even the tallest of passengers with ease and ample interior space. At launch, the car came with a 1.1-litre petrol engine producing 64 bhp and 84 Nm of torque and included features like power steering and power windows. In 2006, Maruti launched the LPG version with the moniker DUO which allowed owners to run the car either with petrol or LPG providing a very low running cost. Over the course of time, Maruti kept updating the car and the present generation of Wagon R was launched in 2019. The car is now offered with a 1.2-litre engine producing 82 bhp and 113 Nm of power and torque respectively, mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission. To date, Maruti has sold over 1968000 units making it the second bestselling model. As part of Maruti Suzuki service centre in Noida, FIDATO can help you buy one from the used car market.
Launched in 2008 as a replacement for Esteem, Maruti Dzire was a sedan with a three-box design based on the Maruti Swift. It featured what is known as a notchback design. The Dezire shared a lot of parts and features with Swift including the drivetrain and transmission. Indeed, it was Swift with a boot. Since its debut, it has been the leading subcompact sedan on sale. In 2015, it crossed the 1 million mark in sales in the Indian market. It has won accolades like the “Most Appealing Entry Mid-size Car” and the “Most Dependable Mid-size Car”. With a capable petrol and diesel engine on offer mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission, it won buyers in both individual categories and taxi operators.
Maruti has a few luxury cars and Kizashi was one of its first. It was launched in 2011 as a family-size sedan and had the largest wheelbase of all the cars sold by Maruti. It also came with the biggest engine that Maruti has used – a 2.4 litre 4-cylinder 16 valves DOHC petrol engine developing 185 bhp of power and 230 Nm of torque. All this power and torque was transferred to the wheels either by a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission. The car came with lots of features as standard such as keyless entry, keyless start, automatic dual climate control, projector headlamps, ABS, EBD, TCS, front and rear airbags, and many more. It was also offered with an AWD option providing superb handling and driving performance. Since its launch, the car has been praised for its attention to detail, refinement, and comfort. The car was however discontinued in 2014 due to its poor sales but it still remains the best ever luxury car from Maruti.
One of the most popular models in demand, Maruti Brezza is one of the SUVs from the company currently in the market. It comes in petrol and CNG versions with four variants. Except for the top-spec ZX+, there is an optional CNG kit for all other variants. The petrol engine is 1.5 litre, and you have the option to choose a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The CNG comes with only 5-speed manual transmission as well as reduced output though the engine is the same. Coming to features, it has a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 4-speaker sound system. Both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can be played in this model. As for safety features, it has seat-belt reminder warnings for all passengers, rear parking sensors, six airbags and more.
Another current model from Maruti in the market, this SUV is also quite in demand with many booked but not delivered units across many dealerships in the country. This is a 5-seater crossover SUV that comes in five variants. Among the 5, only the two lower ones, Delta and Sigma come with CNG powertrain. There are two engine options: 1-litre turbo-petrol with mild-hybrid technology and the other 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol. The former has two options for transmission, a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic while the other has options of a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. The CNG model has a 1.2-litre petrol engine with only a 5-speed manual transmission. This car is quite unique and doesn’t have any direct rivals in the market. The company is also planning to bring an electric version of FRONX which will be a part of its upcoming electric car lineup.
Currently, there is a wait period of 2 months for this hatchback in the market, which shows its popularity. This 5-seater has a very spacious interior giving a very premium vibe. It comes in four variants and 6-monotone colours. The boot space is moderate about 318 litres, which is lowered in the CNG version. It has only 1 engine type, a 1.2-litre petrol one with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT transmission. The CNG version has the same unit for an engine but only manual transmission. As for features, it has pushbutton start/stop, keyless entry and auto AC. Plus, it has a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, 6 airbags and more safety features.
A mid-luxury SUV, Maruti Jimny is a stylish off-roader with a ground clearance of 210 mm. The boot space of 208 litres can be extended to 332 litres when the second row is collapsed. It has two variants, Zeta, and Alpha. Colour options are quite good, two dual-tone and 5 monotone shades are available. The petrol engine is 1.5-litre, with either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. A 4-wheel drivetrain is standard in all vehicles. The features are more or less the same as Baleno and Brezza as are the safety features. This model was made as a competitor to Mahindra Thar or Force Gurkha.

I got my second-hand Ertiga through FIDATO and was very happy with their assessment. I plan to take their annual service package further to make sure my car stays in great shape.
I have the maintenance service package from FIDATO and I got it solely because it was the Maruti Suzuki workshop near me. Used their service for the first time this rainy season when my car broke down in the Delhi area. They came within an hour to tow away my car and even asked if I needed a lift. Quite happy with their service.
The sunroof of my new Grand Vitara was not performing well, and I took it to FIDATO. The waiting area was very clean and with good amenities. The best part was I could see the work going on. The charges were very reasonable and the behaviour of the staff very commendable.
